There’s a common misconception about Evo/Subaru owners which is that there’s a big rivalry between the two. That you can only like one or the other and that’s that. But being that I’m not 16, that’s not really the case. In fact, before I bought my Evo I actually had to choose between that or a Subaru STI. Now, ultimately I ended up with the Mitsubishi and not the Subaru, but the bottom line is I appreciate good cars no matter what.

That being said, this post is about a Subaru STI hatch that belongs to my friend John, and we finally got around to shooting.


I met John through our mutual friend Jonathan (basic ass names. jk. <3) he’d come out to one of our Evo meets and had recently bought the car. Not much had been done to it at that time, but as any car modifying enthusiast he already had the itch to f*ck it up as most of us do.

It goes without saying that when you try to modify a car you’re bound to run into issues… it comes with the territory… now I’m not going to get into details, but three motors and three turbos later, John is finally driving with a solid setup with a nice 610whp and 565wtq. On a small all wheel drive hatch, that’s some pretty damn good power.

We were up pretty early on a cold Friday morning, but I’m glad we finally got together to shoot. I hope you guys enjoy the shots!
